I will overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to build hype for next month's boxing match.

Former two-time world title holder Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I will seriously aim to hurt him. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

Despite those words, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally famous for his dramatics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather attacked former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK opponent Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the novice is still one of the sport's largest financial successes, regularly earning massive earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and asserted he would stop the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Size Difference

As both boxers participated in the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is really proceeding.
